Sneak Preview e107_Quiz

Category:   Blog | Author:   nlstart

In the e107 forums I was triggered by this forum thread. It started by looking at the code and one thing led to another. Before I knew it I was completely revamping the whole module.

It is almost time for it's official release, but before that is the case I would like to give you a preview of what this module could do for you.

You can define a user class for the quiz masters; they are able to define new tests without having access to the admin area. Also you can define a user class for the quiz students; those who are able to take a test. Each test can be defined as being taken once or indefinitely.

The test can be defined as 'static' (the questions are always in the same order) or 'random' (questions are shuffled each time). Also the number of questions asked for the test can be defined. The combination of those two can be rather cool; a test with 60 questions and a setting of 10 questions asked randomly will practically generate a new test for every student.
On top of that the answers are always randomized in their order; so it is useless for students of creating question lists with the answer letters.

More information about the demo version and some screen impressions can be found in the extended news post.

There is a live demo of the almost finished version available here:

(PS: only logged in members can actually participate in the test).
